Unusual circumstances of Ga. execution to be cited in challenges to new drug's use

ATLANTA - The thrashing, jerking death of Roy Willard Blankenship has lawyers for death row inmates plotting fresh arguments against
the drug used to execute him, even though they may never be able
to prove that it caused the spasms in his last moments.

Medical experts say it's possible that Georgia prison staff botched
the procedure last week using a controversial new sedative, that Blankenship had some sort of jarring reaction to the drug, or even
that he faked it. Still, defence attorneys around the nation say they plan to cite Blankenship in requests to stop executions using pentobarbital, a chemical being adopted by a growing number
of states as they run out of another commonly-used drug.

DPIC Releases New Report as 35th Anniversary of Reinstatement of the Death Penalty Approaches

DPIC Releases New Report as 35th Anniversary of Reinstatement of the Death Penalty Approaches

The Death Penalty Information Center has released a new report "Struck by Lightning: The Continuing Arbitrariness of the Death Penalty Thirty-Five Years After Its Reinstatement in 1976."

The report shows that despite the changes to sentencing schemes approved by the U.S. Supreme Court on July 2, 1976, race, geography, money and other factors continue to make the implementation of the death penalty arbitrary and unfair.

"All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer"
is respecting each others' traditions, culture and religions.
There is one Creator and one grandmother earth that we all share. We have gone all over the world once a year to pray
with other Indigenous nations at their Sacred Sites and to the United Nations to talk about prophecies. We as the First Nations have committed ourselves to maintaining our sacred way of life.

All are invited to come to Bdote (Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota USA) June 18-21, 2011 to pray.

U2's Conspiracy of Hope

U2's Conspiracy of Hope

Twenty five years ago today, on June 15th, 1986, the Amnesty International A Conspiracy of Hope tour broadcast live on MTV

from Giants Stadium.
The Conspiracy of Hope tour was a celebration of our 25th anniversary and it introduced countless Americans to human rights and made life-long Amnesty members.

U2 was part of our movement then (watch their amazing performance

in 1986 above!) and they are still with us fighting for justice today.

There's an ancient saying in Japan, that life is like walking from one side of infinite darkness to another, on a bridge of dreams. They say that we're all crossing the bridge of dreams together. That there's nothing more than that.
Just us, on the bridge of dreams.
