Sur la face de cette vieille reine de nos cathédrales,
à côté d'une ride on trouve toujours une cicatrice.

On the face of this ancient queen of our cathedrals,

beside each wrinkle one invariably finds a scar.

Robert Doisneau Birthday

self portrait

Un centième de seconde par-ci, un centième de seconde par-là mis bout à bout, cela ne fait jamais qu'une, deux, trois secondes chipées à l'éternité.

A hundredth of a second here, a hundredth of a second there - even if you put them end to end, they still only add up to one, two, perhaps three seconds, snatched from eternity.

John Moore World Press Photo of the Year

John Moore - Crying Girl on the Border

The 2019 World Press Photo of the Year is awarded to
‘Crying Girl on the Border’ by John Moore (USA), Getty Images.

“I think this image touched many people's hearts, as it did mine, because it humanizes a larger story. When you see Yanela’s face, and she is more than two years old now, you really

see the humanity and the fear of making such a long journey and crossing a border in the dead of night.” - John Moore

Congratsssssssssssssssssssss, John and All !!!!!

Belarus: Europe's Last Executioner

Belarus: Europe's Last Executioner

Belarus is the last country in Europe to have the death penalty. Since 1991, about 300 death sentences have been carried out in the country. The condemned prisoners are shot in the head. The body is not given to the family and the place of burial remains a state secret.
