used in USA as alternative method of execution in Idaho and Oklahoma (as of 2006) and in Utah, where it’s only available for prisoners who were condemned prior the passage of legislation banning this method.

used in 45 countries as sole method of execution (as of 1999).

Gary Gilmore became the first person to be executed in USA in 1977,
renewing the capital punishment process in America.
He was tied to a chair and had a white target pinned over his heart.
