Gas Chamber (cyanide gas)

USA is the only country to use this method of execution as alternative to lethal injection in Arizona, California, Maryland, Missouri and Wyoming.

The gas chamber of San Quentin, California, was converted to a lethal injection’ chamber, after a federal court declared this method as cruel and unusual punishment.

The only other users of lethal gas were the Nazis, during the Holocaust.

The last person to be murdered in USA by this method was Walter LaGrang, a German citizen in 1999, Arizona, by his request, as a protest to death penalty.
He took 18 minutes to die.
