Nice image...reminds of the so called starvation cell in Auschwitz I where St. Maximilian Kolbe among many others were martyred.

Incidentally, using the word "murdered" in reference to people who have been executed is incorrect English. In the English language, the word "murder" refers to unlawful killing of another human being.

thanks for your visit and comment, timokk !!!
i was checking your profile to see who you are but it's not available ....

as for the words "murdered" & "executed" i know very well the meaning.
i don't think i write a so bad english otherwise i would never have a blog
in this idiom .... after all, how could you read and leave a comment ???

for me, it's simple like this, all countries or states, like in USA, which have capital punishment, with law or no law, are the True murders !!!
so, you see, i'm writing it purposely ....

the best !!!

Hi again, Luisa,

My profile is private because currently I only have a blog I use for private communications with my friends all over the world (I am fortunate to have been able to live and work in five countries in Europe, America, and Asia). So let me tell a little about myself.

My name is Timo. I was born in Finland but I am now a US citizen and presently live in the USA. As you probably know, Finland has no capital punishment, in fact the last peace-time execution in Finland was in 1825.

Because of that background, I have been strongly against capital punishment all my life...until last year. Quite frankly, I am now ambivalent about it it. I am not entirely comfortable with it now, but I am no longer think it is necessarily wrong. And I certainly don't think those who support it are evil and those who carry it out are murderers. I think it is a very complex issue.

I don't want to take over your blog but I would be more than happy to engage in constructive debate on why capital punishment may actually be good, if you are interested. Let me know.

Best regards,

timo

greetings, Timo,
thanks for telling me a bit about yourself.
i can see to be now an US citizen was not good for you, at least till last year, well, your choice, not mime .... i guess you live in NH and it's not a so bad state, any executions since 1939 ....

yes, Timo, i know about Finland, europe has no death penalty but you are speaking about peacetime because the last executions in Finland have taken place during World War II and it was a lot of people, right ??? more or less 500 !!!
the most known case is Arndt Pekurinen, the Finnish pacifist and conscientious objector who was executed in November 5, 1941, at the front for refusing to fight and wear an uniform ..... he was 36 years old ....
Arndt was sentenced to death without trial.

Timo, we cannot be ambivalent in this issue, we are pro or against, it's all !!!

ohhhhh no really i'm not interested at all to engage in a debate about,
i have already my daily dose outside of blogger.
as you had time to see my blog is not just about death penalty, anyway ....
it's a warm place which i call home !!!
but you are welcome, may be one day you change of mind again ....

the best !!!
luisa
