A Transient Instance

If you are coming to visit me
I am in Nothingness Land
And Nothingness Land is truly a place.

In Nothingness Land you'll know about every plants' birth
Though in the most remote isle of the earth
For its news is flying in the breeze's nightly breath.

In Nothingness Land you'll know about those bright knights
who witnessed the passion flowers' early ascend
For the mark of their tread shining on the dampness of sands.

In Nothingness Land you'll see prayers fly
with the flock of birds, to the gates of sun.
For there is no space between the dryed heart of the leaves,
the plead for the rain, and the rain.

In Nothingness Land you'll be on your own,
But within expansion of lights from the palm of your hand
the shades of trees will stream like an eternal strand.

If you are coming to visit me I am in Nothingness Land.
And Nothingness Land is truly a place.

So please walk with the tread of a young butterfly
For my lonesome cocoon is so thin, so fragile.

- Sohrab Sepehri -
