i was wondering about holidays and before someone passing by thinks i'm teasing hmmmm ??? sure of courseeeeeee i have many worldwide readers ;-))))))))))))))))))))) let's see
june 10 is Portugal Day, yes,
this year june 11 was corpo the deus, literally translation "god's body" what is translated in the net by corpus christi ??? whatever that means ooppssssssssssss
and today is Sto António,
lisbon day !!!!
mangerico (basil) bonfires, grilled sardines lots of wine and dances in the decorated streets with balloons and arches made of colored paper, santos populares, popular saints celebrations, oh almost forgot altars to the saints for good fortune too, bigggggggggg touristic attraction great for our poooooooooooooooooooooooooooor economy ;-)))))))))))))))))))
naaaa, we are not like the americans who set almost all holidays on mondays .... one of these days no one will know Martin Luther King was born in a tuesday and never in a monday .... as for Columbus day, the better was to ban it from the calendar, right ???
China ??? they just have 7 official public holidays National or China Day, labor day of course, spring day ahhhhhhhhhh and new year's days .... for the others check it here in wikipedia ....
so, you see, this is one of the greatest advantages of living in Portugal, we are a free and happy working people not serious all days and like to enjoy life even if we have no food job home or money ;-))))))))))))))))))-;
and pleaaaaaaaaaaaase no, this country is not in south america as one day a guy told me in Mexico, nor in Spain, last year an american gall told me she was in Barcelona was crazy about spanish food and would love to come back, can't believe goshhhhhhh Spain is the only border we have .... our people say we are the ass of europe but looking carefully the map we can see that’s not true, we are the face with nose and all ....
we are right here on the edge smelling this wonderful Atlantic !!!!
well, Flora and i are famished and in break again ....
uummmmm no party because our piggy bank is famished too ....
