Jaime Fernandes was committed for "schizophrenia" at the age of 38
and interned at Miguel Bombarda Psychiatric Hospital, Lisbon, where he died after 31 years of hospitalization.

Only at the age of 60 he began drawing.
Almost all his art was destroyed.
