Death penalty in Indonesia: an executioner's story

As usual, the executioner didn't tell the whole story. If the public new the whole truth, less people would support this evil punishment, disguised as justice.

Truth is; the prisoner's heart, major blood vessels and lungs are ruptured by the bullets. The prisoner's blood and body tissues are torn and scattered. The prisoner loses consciousness from shock - when shock causes a fall in the blood supply to the brain. (eg. when the human body goes into severe shock for whatever reason, the person goes limp, losing consciousness).

After the shots are fired, the prisoner slowly bleeds to death while moaning in pain. After several minutes or more, if the prisoner is still alive or is still moaning, the Commander of the firing squad fires another shot to the prisoner's head or neck at close range (aka coup de grâce) to finish off the kill.

Medical professionals will confirm that the heart can beat for several minutes even after most of it has been torn away - this is because the heart is a huge muscle hardwired/charged with numerous electrical currents intent to pump to keep the body alive.

A witness to an Indonesian execution by firing squad, Catholic priest Charlie Burrows, recently echoed the painful moans of two prisoners. "They were moaning for seven minutes, bleeding out on the jungle ground. After 10 minutes a doctor came to inspect them and pronounced them dead." he told the Indonesia's Constitutional Court. "I think it is cruel, the torture." said Father Burrows. Desperate to provide some sort of consolation to the two prisoners, Father Burrows sang 'Amazing Grace' as the pair slowly died from bullet wounds. They were pronounced dead ten minutes after being executed by firing squad.
